Born and grown up in the countryside of Southern Finland, studied and worked in several regions in Finland (in the west, east and north), exchange studies in Budapest, working holiday in Australia and now in Lux.
What studies did you do and what is your main activity?
With studies in public administration and marketing my passion is travelling.
How long have you been in Luxembourg?
Since October 2015.
Which reason took you to Luxembourg?
Tell us few things that have surprised you when first arrived?
The price level of the housing, getting change back when paying with lunch vouchers, the traffic jams…
Can you give me 3 adjectives to describe your life in the Grand Duchy?
I’m restaurant explorer who has tried at least 300 restaurants in the capital (every day new place for lunch) and I have to thank my friends to accept my obsession of trying new places and being super flexible with my demands when choosing a place to dine.
What aspect of Luxembourg would you miss if you had to leave tomorrow?
The friends I have made here and the vibrant event scene.
Tell us what is your preferred district in Luxembourg and why?
There are many of them depending on the purpose! For example Limpertsberg I prefer for living, the centre of Bertrange is my favourite getaway nearby, Pulvermühle has great jogging paths with amazing views.
Can you give me one word in your language which is impossible to translate into other languages?
“Sisu” has been translated as guts but it’s just one aspect of the word not the whole meaning as the whole concept is just very typical feature in the Finnish mindset that simply cannot be fully translated.
I’m a never-ending explorer myself and I love to share the information and experiences with others.
