After mastering journalism in Croatia and a short TV career on a local station I was offered a job as Editor of a live TV shows in Budapest, Hungary. Moving abroad encouraged my view of life, me being an inhabitant of the World, and gave me the self-esteem to always be myself in every environment I come into.
4 years after my first move, I found myself moving again – to Luxembourg. I built my social network again from scratch, gained great friends and found myself happily in love, now married with a baby on the way.
I am part of the Croatian Society in Luxembourg, played Clarinet in Kanecher Musek jazz band, mother, wife and a passionate traveler in this great adventure we call Life.
What studies did you do and what is your main activity?
I am Journalist M.A and I have worked on TV station in Croatia and Production TV house in Hungary. However, life brought me to Luxembourg where I do wide range of marketing activities for an Hungarian company.
How long have you been in Luxembourg?
I arrived to Luxembourg in July 2013. Just a few days after Croatia has been accepted to the EU!
Which reason took you to Luxembourg?
Company that I work for opened a new office in Luxembourg and moved my position to the new Head-quarters hence the need to move.
Tell us few things that have surprised you when first arrived?
I am amazed by the city of Luxembourg, it doesn’t stop to surprise me with it’s little hidden places, paths even in the center you can discover, green areas and a notion that it’s a capital city but somehow a human size – easy and close to walk around, offering all that a person needs.
Can you give me 3 adjectives to describe your life in the Grand Duchy?
Calm, inspiring, fulfilling.
What aspect of Luxembourg would you miss if you had to leave tomorrow?
Capital city that still lives close to the nature and offers calm, relaxing environment to working people and young families.
Tell us what is your preferred district in Luxembourg and why?
“Gare” – this is the district where I live in and I love it as its close to everything in the city. I live close to the valley, in a calm street that offers a fast way to green area for doing sports and relaxing. City center is on a walking distance, bus lines available to all parts of the country and jet I still find my little peace of heaven.
Can you give me one word in your language which is impossible to translate into other languages?
Šalabajsati – which would be a regional word for wondering around and hanging-out with friends often perceived by adults as an activity with no meaning or point.
For which reason have you decided to join the JUST ARRIVED Ambassadors club?
I like to integrate into the society I move into and then share the experience, gathered knowledge with other people. I also like to be acquainted with the things that are happening, attend different events, socialize and meet people from different cultures.
